What is an AuthCode and how do I get one?

For many domain names, transfers require that you provide an AuthCode (short for authorization code). You get this code from the current registrar. It's proof that you have the legal right to transfer and acts like a password for your domain name.

You can obtain the AuthCode for your domain names managed by Domain24 in your domain management after selecting the Transfer option.

If you want to transfer an existing domain name to Domain24, please obtain the AuthCode from the current registrar and enter it when ordering your transfer. Please note that AuthCodes are CaSe SeNsItIvE and may contain special characters, making entering them somewhat difficult.

AuthCodes are mandatory for all domain names ending in ASIA, BIZ, BIZ.PL, CC, CH, CLUB.TW, CM, CN, CO.CM, CO.IN, CO.JP, COM, COM.CM, COM.CN, COM.PL, COM.SC, COM.SG, COM.TW, COM.VC, DE, EBIZ.TW, FIRM.IN, FR, GAME.TW, GEN.IN, IDV.TW, IN, IND.IN, INFO, INFO.PL, INT.VC, JP, LA, MOBI, NAME, NET, NET.CN, NET.IN, NET.PL, NET.SC, NET.VC, ORG, ORG.CN, ORG.IN, ORG.PL, ORG.SC, ORG.TW, ORG.VC, PL, SC, SG, TV, TW, US, and VC.

For .eu domain names, using an AuthCode is optional. Transfers can be started with or without the code.
